In 2009, the B.C. Supreme Court recognized the right of five Nuu-chah-nulth Nations to fish and sell fish. In 2011, the B.C. Court of Appeal upheld that decision. Despite these judgements, Canada has yet to engage in meaningful negotiations with Nuu-chah-nulth Nations.
